In the era of electric vehicles, batteries are the core technology, which is China's strength. Tesla is also using Chinese batteries. At present, China accounts for half of the global smart car brands. Besides Tesla, other foreign brands are going downhill - French cars and American cars are far behind in the field of electric vehicles, and German and Japanese cars also have a large technological gap with China. With the improvement and development of the industrial chain, we can minimize the cost of cars and make the best products. In the future, China will certainly become the world's largest producer of new energy smart cars. The demand for chips in smart cars is increasing significantly. In the past, the demand for automotive chips was more than 100, but now the demand for electric vehicles is 300. In the future, the demand for autonomous vehicle chips will reach twoorthree, the cost of chips in electric vehicles will reach more than 1000 US dollars, and the market scale of automotive chips will reach more than 100billion US dollars. At present, the most serious gap of car core shortage is MCU. There are ten to hundreds of MCUs in a car, which need windows, adjustable seats and wipers. You can't sell a car without one. Domestic BYD, jiefa technology and Xinwang microelectronics are all MCU enterprises.
1) Sensor: laser radar has entered a period of rapid development. In the early stage, lidar is subject to high costs and vehicle specification standards, which makes it difficult to be pre installed and mass produced. Lidar will enter the boarding cycle in 2022. Chip based integration promotes cost control, and the semi-solid type meets the vehicle specification level standard. We estimate that the market scale of lidar in intelligent driving is expected to exceed 100billion yuan, with broad development space. 2) Domain controller: high computing power platform promotes high-level intelligent driving, and Qualcomm layout accelerates. At present, NVIDIA is still the first choice of high computing power platform, and the mass production cycle will start in 2022. Huawei and Qualcomm are accelerating their layout. Huawei MDC has been adopted by BAIC, great wall, Chang'an and other manufacturers. Qualcomm acquired vinninger to supplement the ability of the ride platform for intelligent driving. In November, it reached a strategic cooperation with BMW in autonomous driving, and is optimistic about the investment opportunities of Qualcomm partners. 3) Algorithm solution: intelligent navigation (ICC) and valet parking (AVP) are expected to be the first to land. The intelligent navigation function can realize point-to-point automatic driving in the whole scene, freeing hands to a certain extent. Valet parking can realize automatic parking and pick-up in the new parking scene, improve the parking and pick-up efficiency and upgrade the user experience. 4) Smart cockpit: the penetration rate continues to improve, and the operating system, one core multi screen and DMs are the first to increase. Euro NCAP requires new cars in the European market to be equipped with DMS from July 2022. China has made mandatory requirements for some commercial vehicle models to install DMS system. We are optimistic that DMS will become an important part of the follow-up intelligent cockpit.

The demand for automotive semiconductors will explode due to the intellectualization of vehicles. The single vehicle value of new energy vehicles is several times that of traditional fuel vehicles. With the continuous improvement of the penetration rate of new energy vehicles, the demand for automotive semiconductors will also maintain a high-speed growth: companies that develop and mass produce vehicle specification products such as power, storage, RF, MCU, etc.
In addition to the substantial increase in the demand for automotive semiconductors, automotive intelligence will also bring increased demand for intelligent cockpits and on-board entertainment systems. Large screen, multi screen and interaction have become the mainstream trends. It is expected that consumer electronics companies will gradually enter automotive related tracks: manufacturers of automotive electronic components and passive components and corresponding structural components in 2022.
